One day I will bake this cake. Just throwing that out there…if only I owned some fancy piping bags and tips. I’ll think of something. hoot.

    I’m pretty sure the eyes are those Danish cookies that come in the blue tin. No fancy frosting tips needed!

    elly: i’ll be a wee bit sad cutting into it. I’ll just have to take dozens of photos beforehand.

    alec: see, this is why i need you. after a second inspection i agree with you that they’re def cookies. however, i’ve never heard of/seen Danish cookies in a blue tin. it’s a mystery…

    OMG i haven’t seen those since I was about 6. Images of my grandmother came surging back, she would always have them in the house when we came to visit. Thanks for the blast from the past!

    I love the 70’s color scheme to go with the retro owl! Perhaps you could get away with the ol’ “cut a diagonal tip off the corner of a ziploc” trick for a piping bag? It doesn’t look like very intensive piping work so it might very well do the job!
