Do you like foreign filmes like me

Oui? Then you’d love Les Poupées Russes (The Russian Dolls). After hunkering down with a good glass of wine (or three) last night to watch it we both exclaimed that it was one of our favorite foreign films.

It’s the sequel to L’Auberge Espagnole and all of the characters come back for a final hoorah! I won’t go into any of the details, just that we really enjoyed watching them both.

I’m kind of surprised you prefer it over L’auberge Espagnole, especially since Xavier is still a bit of turd (albeit with his shit slightly more together)… but I’m glad you liked it. Wendy was much more likable this time around, that’s for sure. And I NEED Isabelle’s apartment. That place is freaking boss.

PSBTW, you should check out De Battre mon Coeur s’est Arrêté (The Beat That My Heart Skipped) — it stars Romain Duris (aka Xavier.) It’s a rather dark film, but it’s so beautifully directed and Romain does a jaw-droppingly good performance. The trailer pour vous.

Hey Dove, thanks for the movie reco. Like always…you just know THE BEST frenchie films!

um I can’t really talk too much about Isabelle’s apartment bc i want it a little too badly. any green house/apt with exposed brick and sliding doors on the INSIDE is fine by me.

Wendy is hotttt in this one. The mom/frump haircut was not suiting for her in “l’auberge.

and yes, Xavier is a huge turd and I’m still not over it.
