I thought Summer was wedding season…
This Fall Alex and I have been to more weddings in a short time frame than usual. It started in October and picked up steam this November. I’ve enjoyed it, I know a lot of people loathe weddings, I welcome them and usually fight back tears when the bride is walked down the aisle or during the Father/Daughter dance. Annnyywayyy, we’re ending our Season of Weddings on November 28th when Alex will be the best man in his best friend Tim’s wedding…it’ll be a good one.
Also coming up, we’re flying up to Ohio for Thanksgiving with Alex’s friends and family on the 24th. It’s been a whopping two years since our last visit up there, so we’re way overdue. We’re excited to see old faces and places…we’ll definitely take the obligatory pilgrimage to Bowling Green (20 min. south of Toledo) to romp around our Alma Mater Bowling Green State University. I love going back there and reminiscing about the good ole college days…because they were so amazing!
So posting will be light the next week or so. Hope everyone out there has a plentiful and yummy Thanksgiving meal.
Purple Passion

I’ve had a thing for purple for about the last month or so…and it’s reached full swing today. I think. I buy purple patterned flowy blouses and purple beverages. Both desktops at work are purple and it’s starting to show up in my designs. I don’t know what’s next…painting my dog purple? I would NEVER.
“Friday Night Lights” Fanatic

I always knew of the show “Friday Night Lights.” I’d heard mostly good things about it, probably due in part that it’s shot in and around my hometown of Austin, Texas. And really, while watching the show and seeing things that I see everyday, well that’s kind of exciting. AND they play teams that were in my district in High School. Yeah…Cool!
But anyway, my friend, who I totally wouldn’t deem as a “Friday Night Lights” fan brought it up to me on three different occasions months ago. The whole, “Do you watch it?” “Oh, well you really should, soooo gooood.” Then she loaned us the first season. I have to admit, it sat on a bench in our family room for about a week and a half before Alex finally popped it in…without me. He watched the first two episodes and said, “Hey, it’s pretty good…you should watch it.”
AND OH BOY IS HE SORRY NOW
Because everyday I think about that show…the characters and the situations and how oh how is all that going to work out? We come home and I beam at him lovingly, hoping that he’ll ask what I want to watch on TV that evening. And when he does I say, “FNL FNL FNL FNL.” Yes, I’ve started abbreviating it now, because damn it, it’s just that good and it deserves its own acronym.
Does anyone else out there watch it? Let’s be dorks and talk about it.
P.S. I heart Tim Riggins and Matt Saracen!
I have cool friends

Today I was haphazardly scrolling through one of my favorite blogs, Design*Sponge, when I came across a collaboration of furniture and pet that I had definitely seen before. Where I’d seen it, in my super talented/fellow art major, Erin Heath’s blog…where she speaks of her quirky home finds and craft projects. But then I realized I wasn’t reading her blog but Design*Sponge, a blog read by millions. She’s super cool and definitely deserves a shout out based on the awesome work that she does.

Autumnal Table

because I’m in an autumnal “let’s go roast pumpkin seeds” mood I thought I’d post this. Gray pumpkins? Do those exist? If so, I kind of need one.
Costume Report
I rather enjoyed how my costume turned out on Halloween. Even though I did get a few, “What are you?” Oh wellll. My crafty mom helped me put together the corset top and gold wrist/neck bands while my friend Alec helped me come up with a clever alter ego.
Introducing “Rosey the Ravenger,” super power = Girl Power

The table scape didn’t turn out too bad either. It was pleasing :-)
